GAA betting Preview – Donegal set to beat Mayo

A draw would be enough for Donegal (3 points) to book a place in the semi-final. It could also be enough for Mayo (2points), but for that to happen, Meath would have to beat Kerry by 11 points or more. A win for Mayo would see them through.

They meet for the first time since the 2015 All-Ireland quarter final, which Mayo won. They also won the 2013 quarter-final, leaving Donegal seeking their first championship win over Mayo since the 2012 All-Ireland final.

Donegal are bidding to reach the semi-final for the first time since 2014 while Mayo were last there in 2017.

The last Allianz League meeting between the counties was a dramatic affair. It came in the final round last year’s competition when a stoppage time point by Kevin McLough lin for Mayo brought the game level (0-13 each). It was a very significant result as it left Donegal relegated. If they won, they would have survived in Division 1 and Mayo would have been relegated.
