Top 5 GAA Bets for the Weekend

With the pre-season tournaments back in full flow at inter-county level I have decided to look at the top 5 gaa bets for the weekend. Their is action in the O’Byrne Cup in football in Leinster, as well as pre-season games in the Walsh Cup also in Leinster. Let’s take a look and see if we can come up with a five team accumulator.

1.Louth to beat Offaly @ 10/11 – I fancy Louth to win this especially on home soil. Not much really separates the sides in terms of football. It is 50-50 so the odds say. Home advantage should swing in favour of Wayne Kierans’ charges.

2. Wexford to beat Laois @7/4 – Paul Galvin’s first game in charge of the Model County ended in a three point defeat at home to Westmeath. His Wexford side have another home game here against Michael Quirke’s Laois. Laois lost to midland rivals last weekend but Michael Quirke was positive, speaking to Midlands Radio Sport he said “It was largely positive I thought, I was generally happy enough apart from the result,” However, I do fancy Wexford win and they are available at good odds.

3. Meath to beat Westmeath @8/13 – Westmeath beat Wexford last weekend away from home but I think Meath will come out on top here. It will be the Royals first game of the new season and they will be fresh coming into the game. Meath for me to win.

4. Kildare to beat Wicklow @2/9 – Wicklow will be tough to beat in Aughrim but I fancy Kildare to win in what will be Jack O’Connor’s second game in charge. The Lilywhites lost out to Longford last weekend.  However, I expect them to win this one.

5. Laois to beat Carlow @ 1/3 – The Laois and Carlow hurlers play in the Walsh Cup. Laois had a strong 2019 championship. Eddie Brennan will want the new season to get off well. I expect his side will have to much for Colm Bonnar men.

A 10 euro bet on the top 5 gaa for the weekend outlined above would get you back 140 euro. Not bad in my eyes !
